Objective
To provide relevant and practical solutions to current water problems in Asia

Short Description
Governments, public and private sectors and other stakeholders who have a relationship with AWC Water Projects will participate in the forum. Also, the forum will bring up Government-to-Business (G2B) and Business-to-Business (B2B) meetings for practical implementation of tangible solutions to the issues.

07. Asian Water Challenges▼
Background
Asia Water Council (AWC) and UNESCO International Centre for Water Security and Sustainable Management (i-WSSM) co-organize this special session to actively cooperate to fulfill complementary needs each other and implement sustainable and tailored projects based on suitable research and education program in developing countries. AWC and UNESCO i-WSSM work together in this area to contribute to water security issues and challenges in developing countries and support the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goal 6 on Water.
Objectives
The special objectives of this special session are the following:
ㆍ To network stakeholders in water sector in order to resolve water-related issues in their countries together through
active cooperation;
ㆍ To identify water security issues and challenges in developing countries to implement sustainable and tailored
projects based on research and education;
ㆍ To figure out water security research and education needs in developing countries to conduct a research and
education program to meet their demand
Participants
Participants will mainly be AWC Board Members and development practitioners responsible for, or engaged in, water-related work in Asia. A number of experts and representatives of i-WSSM and Government o cers will also be participating and contributing to the special session. Between 50 and 60 participants are expected to attend.
