Greetings,This is President Jung-moo Lee from Korea Water Forum

Korea Water Forum is a corporation which was established by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, the Ministry of Environment, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, the Korea Meteorological Administration and the National Emergency Management in 2005 to expand by enhancing global network, providing solutions to the global water issues, suggesting future water vision and offering sustainable polices.

The first president Seung Soo Han, former prime minister, is the founder of UNSGAB HELP (UN Secretary General’s advisory committee). UNSGAB HELP laid groundwork for the future relationship with the global water sector organizations. The Second President Eun Kyung Park made a great contribution to attract the 7th World Water Forum to Korea. In the 3rd Phase, the Korea Water Forum supports the success of the World Water Forum. Also, as a representative channel for domestic and international water related organizations, experts, and civic groups, the Korea Water Forum is dedicating a great effort to enhance domestic and International water sector participants’ partnership.

In addition, the Korea Water Forum was an organizer of the process of technology and Citizens’ Forum at the 7th World Water Forum 2015 Daegu & Gyeongbuk and continue to hold an Implementation Roadmap Review Meeting, AMS, World Water Challenges, World Water Partnership as a follow-up action of the World Water Forum. The annual Korea International Water Week(KIWW) is the extension of this process, and the Korea Water Forum will make every effort to prepare and hold the Korea International Water Week 2017 successfully with the host organizations.

  • Building international water hub to approach the global water issues in cooperation with other water related international organizations
  • Establishing the Korea Water Partnership by the participations of government, industry, academy, and NGOs to boost overseas water businesses
  • Promoting public awareness and education on water
  • Technically supporting the organizing committee for the 7th World Water Forum
